Options campaign tracking

Lost among 30 trades?

One wheel campaign. One P/L number.

Sell a put, get assigned, sell a call, roll it out — The Iron Wheel adds it all up to one running number: profit and loss, cash tied up, and where you break even.

  • Any broker, nothing to connect
  • Commissions included
  • Export everything, any time
Campaign
A poor man's covered call campaign on JNJ: total, unrealized and realized P/L, capital, break-even, a candlestick chart with the short strike and break-even drawn on it, and the P/L profile today and at expiry.

The campaign

Your broker shows 37 fills. You ran one wheel.

A year of selling puts on KO is dozens of rows: sold, bought back, rolled down, rolled out. Each one is a line on a statement, and the result of the idea behind them is nowhere.

The Iron Wheel files every option leg, share lot and dividend on one underlying into a campaign and keeps its books for you — so a roll or an assignment continues the story instead of starting a new one.

  1. Sell a put
  2. Roll it
  3. Get assigned
  4. Sell a call
  5. Called away
  6. one P/L
The trade history of a KO wheel: dozens of put sales, buy-backs and rolls, each with its own row.

Inside the app

Everything a premium seller checks, already added up

Real options, real fills, real prices. These are screens from a demo account running backtested trades on market data.

Know where you stand, across every account

Portfolios mirror your brokerage accounts; every campaign is one row. Totals per strategy and per portfolio, sortable by any column.

Instant from cache, then refreshed with live prices.

The dashboard: a PMCC portfolio and a wheel portfolio, each campaign with short and long days to expiration, time value left, total P/L, capital and VIX change since the last trade.
Short DTE & time value
Days until the leg that can be assigned, and how much of the premium sold is still on the table.
Total P/L & capital
Realized, unrealized and dividends for the campaign's whole life, against the capital it ties up.
VIX since you traded
How far volatility has moved since each campaign's last trade — the premium you sold into versus the premium on offer now.

Break-even

Never sell a call below your real cost

The premium you collected and the dividends you received lower what the shares actually cost you. Both break-evens are drawn on the chart — the position's own, and the one net of everything already banked — so a strike below either one is obvious before you sell it.

  • Solved on the same curve as the P/L profile, so the header and the chart always agree
  • Exact at expiry; diagonals such as the PMCC priced with Black-Scholes-Merton, implied volatility and dividend yield
  • Every open strike marked with its days to expiration
A WFC wheel: 100-plus shares and a short 90 call. The break-even of 87.34 and the break-even net of realized premium and dividends, 76.23, are both drawn on the price chart.

Alerts

Nothing sneaks up on you

A dashboard row turns pink when a campaign wants a decision, and a warning icon says why. Each trigger can be switched off in Settings.

When a leg does expire, Expire records it in one click — the $0 close and, if it finished in the money, the share assignment at the strike.

Expiring today. A leg, long or short, expires at today's close.

Assignment risk. A short leg is in the money with under $0.05 of time value left.

Volatility jump. VIX is up 30% or more since the campaign last traded.

Expire in one click
Open positions of a PMCC: the short call 19 days out and the long call 110 days out, each with delta, unrealized P/L, time value, and Close and Expire buttons.

Reports

See what the strategy actually earned

Every closing trade and dividend across all campaigns, in one ledger. Win rate, average win against average loss, and the realized P/L curve — for a week, a month, a year or all time.

  • Filter by portfolio, strategy and underlying
  • Group by transaction or by campaign
Reports: realized P/L of 7,381.40 from 54 closing trades and 2 dividends, an 83% win rate, average win and loss, and a cumulative realized P/L chart over a year.

Market Vibe

Is premium rich or thin today?

VIX against five lookbacks, from yesterday to four weeks ago, beside the stock and crypto fear & greed gauges. Context for sizing and timing — not a signal.

Market Vibe: VIX at 14.87 compared with 1, 3, 7, 14 and 28 days ago, each change colour-coded.
Fear and greed gauges: stocks at 37, fear; crypto at 70, greed; each with its recent history.

How it works

From scattered fills to one number, in three steps

  1. 1

    Create a campaign

Pick the strategy and the underlying, and file it under a portfolio that matches your brokerage account.

  2. 2

    Record the trades

Type them in, paste them from your broker, or expire and assign in one click. Dividends and commissions too.

  3. 3

    Watch one number

P/L, capital and break-even update with live prices — for the campaign, the portfolio and everything you hold.

The Iron Wheel way

A record-keeper, not a signal service

Plenty of tools promise the next trade. This one keeps honest books on the trades you already made.

Never touches your broker

No connection, no credentials, no orders. Trades are typed in or pasted; nothing here can trade.

No picks, no advice

Numbers about positions you chose. Market context is labelled as context, never as a signal.

No third-party trackers

No ad pixels, no analytics scripts, no tracking cookies. Usage is counted on the server.

Your data leaves with you

Export every campaign and trade as JSON, import it back, or delete the account, all from Settings.

FAQ

Common questions

The help centre covers every screen, column and calculation in depth.

What is a campaign?

One strategy on one underlying, from its first trade to its last: every option leg, share lot and dividend. P/L, capital and break-even are calculated over the whole campaign, so rolling a put or taking assignment continues it instead of splitting it into pieces.

Does it connect to my brokerage account?

No. The Iron Wheel has no access to any brokerage account and cannot place orders. Trades are entered by hand or pasted from a broker's trade log.

Which brokers can I import from?

Any broker works with the trade form. Bulk import reads Interactive Brokers trade-log rows, plus a simple one-line format for options from anywhere else. Lines that do not parse are reported back, not dropped.

Which tickers are supported?

112 US stocks, ETFs and indices, including SPX and RUT. A missing ticker can be requested from the Support page.

How is P/L calculated?

Realized P/L is FIFO, lot by lot, with commissions included in each lot's price. Open positions are marked to market with live quotes, and dividends are added net of the withholding rate set in Settings. The P/L guide has every formula.

Is this investment advice?

No. It is a record-keeping and analysis tool; see the risk disclaimer.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Settings exports every portfolio, campaign and trade as a JSON file that can be imported back, and the account can be deleted outright from the same page.

Put every trade where it belongs.

Sign in with a Google account, create a campaign, and paste in the trades you already have — the P/L is there the moment they are saved.
